Eligibility for the course of pre sea certificate course of Engine Rating are as follows :

Educational qualifications:-

10+2 from recognized college or Institute (diploma in mechanical/ industrial/B.E. from a recognized university).

Age limit: -

Age restriction is 17 yrs to 25 yrs for all candidates. The restriction is however relaxed for some foreign companies.

Medical standard:-

Candidate should be physically fit for sea service as per standard norms and must come along with a medical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner.

Selection:-

The candidate will have to attend an entrance test and interview after verifying original documents.

Training:-

Training comprising of academics; workshop practical which will be completed in 22 week and 2 weeks for STCW' 2010 modular courses as per the list. The academy provides theoretical and practical knowledge of seamanship, Navigation, Rule of Road, parts of engine and generators, working of mechanical parts and machine.

DISCIPLINE:-

Strict discipline is maintained and smoking or intake of alcohol and any types of drugs or Tobacco is strictly prohibited on or off the campus. Anyone under the influence of liquor/smoking will be terminated from his training. The decision of institution will be final.
